I graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a specialty in Child Welfare followed by a master’s degree in Social work in 2013 from Whitney M. Young School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University with a concentration in Health/Mental Health.

     My social work career expands over 10 years of service as a psychiatric clinical social worker. While obtaining my master’s degree, I worked at Georgia’s Department of Family and Children Services as a Foster Care Placement Specialist and Grady Memorial Hospital as Community Mental Health Specialist in Atlanta, GA. Upon graduating with my master’s degree, I was offered a position as a Forensic Social Worker for Georgia Regents University at Georgia Regional Psychiatric Hospitals where I served for 3 years prior to moving to North Carolina. In North Carolina I worked as therapist for Holly Hill Hospital’s adult general psychiatric unit working with people with diverse backgrounds and disorders. As of this date I am a clinical psychotherapist in the private sector at Inner Peace Community Support Services. 

     I have a provisional licensed as a Clinical Social Worker Associate from North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board and is expected to become fully licensed in August 2018. I completed an intensive certificate class in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilize CBT as my main modality approach but will use multiple modalities and specialize in varies forms of modalities for diverse population such as Play Therapy, Sand Tray and Kinetic Sand Therapy, Puppetry Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused Therapy, and CBT for Trauma Therapy, with Children, Adolescent, Young Adults and Adults.
